Privacy Policy

1Who we are

Cue & Capture is an iPhone application published by Appystrano LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app or this website. It applies to the app and to cueandcapture.com.

2What we do not collect

The current version of the app does not:

• require an account, email address, name or password;
• include any analytics, attribution or crash-reporting SDK;
• track you across other apps or websites, and it declares no tracking domains;
• show advertising, or share information with advertisers or data brokers;
• sell or rent personal information, under any definition, to anyone.

The app ships with its written content bundled inside it, so most of what you do — reading a lesson, opening a pose card, building a board — involves no network request at all.

3Information stored on your device

The app saves the following inside its own private storage area on your iPhone:

• boards you create, and the poses and shoot dates you add to them;
• which lessons you have completed, and where you left off;
• preferences and interface state.

This information is never transmitted to us. It is protected by iOS app sandboxing, it is included in your device backup if you back up your iPhone, and it is permanently deleted when you delete the app. There is nothing for us to erase on request, because we never receive it.

4Location

The Light Tracker calculates golden hour, sunset and blue hour times for where you are standing. To do that, iOS asks your permission to share your approximate location with the app while you are using it.

Your location is used entirely on your device. The calculation is pure solar mathematics performed locally — it does not require a network request, and your coordinates are never sent to us, stored by us, or shared with anyone.

Granting location is optional. If you decline, every other part of the app works normally and you can enter times manually. You can change or revoke the permission at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services.

5Images and content delivery

Wedding photographs shown in the app are loaded from our image host at linandjirsablog.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com, operated on our behalf by Amazon Web Services.

As with any request for a file over the internet, that server necessarily receives your device's IP address, the file requested, and standard technical details such as time and user agent. This is a technical requirement of delivering an image, not a profile of you: we do not combine these logs with anything else, do not use them to identify you, and do not use them for advertising or analytics.

6Workshop video

Workshop lessons play through video players embedded from Vimeo and, in some cases, YouTube. These are third-party services. When a video loads, the provider receives your IP address and device information and may set cookies or similar identifiers, under its own privacy policy rather than ours.

We do not receive any information back from these providers about what you watch, and we do not pass them anything about you. If you never open a workshop video, no request is made to either provider.

7Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions are sold and processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Payment is handled under your Apple Account, and we never see your card details, billing address or Apple Account credentials.

Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymised sales and subscription reports — for example how many subscriptions were started in a country in a given week. These reports do not identify individual customers. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

8Crash and performance data

The app contains no crash-reporting or performance-monitoring service. If you have separately chosen to share analytics with Apple and with developers in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, Apple may make anonymised crash logs available to us. That sharing is controlled by Apple and by you, and can be switched off there at any time.

9Children

Cue & Capture is a professional tool for working and aspiring wedding photographers. It is not directed at children, and it is not intended for use by anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children — in practice we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, as described above.

10Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (Europe and the UK) or the CCPA/CPRA (California) to access, correct, delete or port the personal information a company holds about you, and to object to its sale.

Because we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, export or delete, and there is nothing to opt out of selling — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. You are welcome to contact us to confirm this in writing, and we will respond within 30 days.

To remove everything the app has stored, delete the app from your iPhone. To manage a subscription, use Settings › your name › Subscriptions.

11Changes to this policy

This policy describes the app as it exists today. We expect it to change: planned work includes optional user accounts and cloud sync, which would introduce an email address and stored content, and possibly privacy-respecting product analytics.

When that happens we will update this page, change the effective date at the top, and — where the change is significant — tell you inside the app before it takes effect. We will not begin collecting a new category of information without saying so here first.
